Leave the judgment in the dumpster

Once I started this blog, I began spiraling into all the expectations that may come from it.

Do I need to post on scheduled basis? Do I need to create a content calendar? How will I know if people are reading and connecting with what I’m sharing? What are my friends and colleagues going to think of me now? Will it affect my relationships? I quickly jumped into the red zone.

Then a dear friend who knows the real JSB reminded me that this was part of what I’m working on, she said, “leave the judgement and mind swirl in the dumpster where it belongs.”

Putting my big girl panties on and dealing with it

We all have a few key moments in our life that shape us. 

Probably the biggest one for me was that I had to grow up overnight so that I could provide for my daughter, while I was still a child myself. 

I’ll give you the highlights and spare you the details. I was 19, in college and working as an assistant manager at a local dry cleaner making $7.25/hour. (Hey, I thought that was pretty good in 1998).
